Ironworkers Local Union 135 was duly organized and chartered on September 12, 1912 in Galveston, Texas. The Local Union covers an area of the Upper Texas Gulf Coast and Southeast Texas which includes
Galveston, Texas City, Freeport, Lufkin, Nacogdoches and The Golden Triangle Area of Beaumont, Port Arthur and Orange.
We are a mixed Local that provides manpower for all facets of our trade. With one of the largest Petro/Chem areas in the nation our work in this industry is a large base of employment for our membership.
Our members enjoy a good wage with benefits that include Health Care (medical and dental), Pension Plan ( Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Plans) and Vacation Plan. These fringe benefits are contributions paid by our Contractors as part of our wage package.
Local 135 has an Apprenticeship and Training facility based in Houston, Texas in a partnership with Local Union 84.
